Demonstration of the majority socialists for the German government
Demonstration of the majority socialists for the German government in Berlin.
World War One Diary for Sunday, December 29, 1918:

Home Fronts

Germany: Majority Socialist demo in Berlin vs Spartacists, but 3 Independent Socialists leave Government.
France: Liberated Districts Ministry formed.
Britain: Meat ration coupon value raised from 4d to 5d (pork, poultry, game and pre-served meats unrestricted). Churchill vainly asks for Admiralty rather than War Office.

Eastern Front

Baltic States: Royal Navy shore patrols (withdrawn January 2, 1919) evacuate 350 Allied subjects and Latvian Government from Riga (20,000 Reds 25 miles away defeating Baltic Landeswehr at Hintzenberg). Cruiser HMS Ceres fires on mutinous Latvian regiment’s barracks and subdues it (until December 30).
