Robert Georges Nivelle
Born 1856 in France, Robert Georges Nivelle climbed rapidly the military career ladder and became from the commander of an artillery regiment in 1914 the commander of an army corps, which should be distinguished at Verdun.

France: Nivelle promoted to command French III Corps.
