Occupied Territories

Yugoslavia: In Yugoslavia 2 major offensives by German, Italian and ‘puppet’ troops (January – June 1942) force Tito’s Partisans to retreat 241 km from Serbia into Croatia.

Air War

Britain: First of 4 attempted night raids on Birmingham during 1942 – only 2 (July 27-28 and 29-30) find the target.
