Poland: Mordechai Anielewicz, 25-year-old commander of Jewish fighters in Warsaw, and 80 others blown up and killed by SS troops in Mila Street headquarter.

Africa

Tunisia: Allies capture Tebourba and Djedeida. French occupy Zaghouan (South Tunisia).

Sea War

Pacific: 3 Japanese destroyers sunk by mines in central Solomons.
