Poland

Massive indiscriminate artillery bombardment of Warsaw, followed by major German infantry assault; city center in flames.
Poles recapture Mokotow Airport and six hastily rebuilt aircraft fly out (night, 26-27).

Home Fronts

France: Communist Party declared illegal.
