Americans land at Hollandia
Americans land at Hollandia. LVTs heading for the beaches while the cruisers Boise and Phoenix support the landings.

Pacific: AMERICANS LAND AT HOLLANDIA and Aitape, on north coast of New Guinea; 52,000 troops in 113 ships, escorted by US 5th and 7th Fleets.

East Asia

China: Japanese capture Chengchow (Honan).
