Diary August 15, 1942

US tanker Ohio is towed into Grand Harbour
Picture from this day: as last ship the US tanker Ohio is towed by two destroyers into Grand Harbour, Malta. The surviving ships of Operation Pedestal were bringing enough supplies to Malta that the island will be able to hold out until December, 1942.

Europe: Pathfinder Force established within RAF Bomber Command under Air Commander Bennett. (First operation against Flensburg shipyards, night August 18-19.)
