Operation Barbarossa: German troops capture Vitebsk.

Air War

Western Europe: RAF night raids on railways at Aachen (Western Germany) and Naples (Italy).

Secret War

Britain: Merchant seaman George Armstrong, first British traitor to be executed in WW2, hanged after offering services to German Consul in USA.
