Versailles Daily Mail — The press had been a powerful agitator of patriotic emotion during the war. But its power to whip up hatred was less welcome for a fair peace.

World War One Diary for Tuesday, June 24, 1919:

France – Peace Process: Belgium to have priority in German reparations up to $ 500 millions.
Hungary: Hungarian-Czech Army truce. Anti-Communist Budapest rising suppressed as are three others (June 22-25).
