The British pre-Dreadnought battleship HMS Nelson with 16,500 tons displacement and a crew of 865. Main armament 4 x 12-inch and 10 x 9.2-inch guns.

Dardanelles: With balloon spotting, battleship Lord Nelson (55 shells) again sets Chanak alight.

Air War

Western Front: French aircraft bomb Douai rail station.

Home Fronts

Britain: Kitchener asks Lloyd George’s Parliament Secretary Dr Addison to run Trench Warfare Department.
