Panther tank in Italy
Under an Italian cypress grove, the threatening turret of a Panther tank is directed at its target.

Italy: Panzers counter-attack and seriously threaten Salerno bridgehead (September 13-14). Allied naval and air forces bombard advancing Germans ’round-the-clock’.
