A German anti-aircraft gunner. The ‘Flak’ bears the brunt of air defense against the ever-growing Allied bombing raids.

Air War

Germany: 207 RAF bombers attacking Cologne and dropping 513t of bombs.
Western Europe: Allied bombers raid Dunkirk harbour. RAF night intruders damage 11 locomotives in North France.
