Eastern Front – First of series of Luftwaffe raids on industrial centres in Russia: Night raid on Gorki (Nsihni Novgorod) great tank-manufacturing centre on the Volga, east of Moscow. First of series of strategic raids by Luftwaffe on industrial centres along the Volga during June.
Mediterranean: B-24 Liberators bomb Grossaglie airfield (South Italy). Wellington night bombers attack Milo airfield (Sicily).
